LOVE TO LEARN
HORSE RIDING
Look after and ride your very own horse!
Six half days of equestrian activities + six half days of multi activity
If you are mad about horses and love outdoor activities too, we have the perfect adventure for you!
What’s it like?
Our Horse Riding holidays are ideal for beginner or less experienced riders and offer a brilliant mix of classic PGL multi activities alongside a specialist riding programme of activities. As well as learning and improving your horse riding skills, you’ll help with grooming and looking after your horse.
What can I do?
At Boreatton Park and Windmill Hill we focus on school-based riding and instruction at our specialist riding schools (a short walk or coach ride).
Can I do other activities as well?
Yes, you can also enjoy different activities from our brilliant multi activity programme.
Do I need any riding experience?
These holidays are suitable for those with moderate or no riding experience. If you are a more experienced rider and would prefer a 'horses-only' holiday click here to see our Horse Riding Pro holiday.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
We’ll provide all the specialist equipment you need, but you must bring a pair of shoes or boots with a heel. You can bring your own jockey skullcap, but this must conform to BSI safety standards.
From only £629 per child
Activities
Every day is different
Every day you get to spend half your day trying out different activities from our brilliant multi activity programme such as climbing and canoeing. The other half of your day is spend riding and caring for your horse at one of our brilliant specialist riding centres (a short bus drive away). Please note that not all activities are available at all centres; please see the specific centre pages for more information.
Evening activities - the fun doesn’t stop there!
We also include fun-packed evening entertainment programmes at all our centres, every day, all year round, whichever holiday you choose.

Breakfast includes cereals, toast, yogurts, porridge, and cooked breakfast – you choose! Don’t forget to refill your drinks bottle before you head off to your first activity |
Morning Activities | Equestrian Activities |
Lunch | Worked up an appetite? Great – it’s time to replenish your energy stores with the dining room. If you have energy to spare after lunch your Group Leader will always be ready for a quick kickabout with a ball or you could relax and chat with your new friends. |
Afternoon Activities |
Canoeing and Jacob's Ladder |
Dinner | Time to eat again – a different menu each day (and did we mention, often evening meals come with a hot pudding too – or you can stick with fruit if you prefer). |
Evening Ents | Talent shows, campfires, quizzes and much more – your evening entertainment programme gives you the chance to get together with everyone else in your age group and have some laughs. |
Bedtime | Bedtime. The younger ones go first whilst older groups have time to chill out and chat or watch a DVD. Then it’s lights out and time to sleep ready to do it all over again tomorrow! |
